1. What is the date format to be entered?
It defaults to the date format of the computer. To find the computers date format,
user can view it by clicking the Start icon of Windows 95/98 then click Settings|Control
Panel|Regional Settings|Date.
2. Is the Health
Insurance Number a mandatory field which must be entered?
Yes, the Health Insurance Number field must be entered before the patient in
question is properly enrolled.
3. Is the Facility patient I.D. a mandatory
field?
No, user does not have to enter this field. However, the Facility patient I.D. information
may be useful for cross-referencing purpose.
4. How do users save an
entry in the Dictionary?
The Dictionary has three tabs: Hospital Data; Physician; and Drug Cost. There is a
Save button on the Hospital tab. Press the Save button to save the
information entered. There are no Save buttons on the Physician and Drug Cost
tabs (which are grids). To save the data entered, press the Close button located at the
upper right corner of the Dictionary window which will save the data. (Caution: pressing
the main ChemoTrac window button which is located just above the Dictionary window will
exit out from the program.)
5. What should users do when users cannot view all the
buttons on the screen?
Users should re-size the resolution of the display. To re-size, right click the mouse on
the desktop. Select Properties and select Settings. Adjust the desktop area resolution to
800 by 600 pixels. Press the Apply Button and follow the instructions on screen.
6. How do users update the ChemoTrac program when there
are new drugs or changes from CCO?
DKK will provide updates on a regular basis. These include new drugs to be added, changes
or bugs already fixed. An update will be posted in the DKK website for users
to download. After the update file has been downloaded, users should invoke the ChemoTrac
program.
In order to use the Update Dictionary function, user must close all patient records.
(Other than the main menu appearing at the top, the rest of the window should be blank)
Select on the main menu Tools|Update Dictionary and follow the instruction. Once the
update file is selected, ChemoTrac will automatically perform the update process.
7. Why is there a run-time error message on
the screen when users try to generate a report?
When there is no printer driver installed in the computer (occurs very rarely), a
run-time error message will pop up if the user tries to generate and view a
report. In this situation when the computer is not intended to print (not hooked up to a
printer), user should still install a printer driver in the computer to avoid this
run-time error message.
8. Why is there a
run-time error message when filling in the eligibility form?
In enrolling a new patient or filling in the
eligibility form, the following scenario will generate a run-time error message:
Skip the Body Surface Area field
Enter the mg/m2 dosing
Enter the planned total dose
Save the screen.
Going back to the Miscellaneous tab and enter the BSA field
This problem is being addressed.
9. How come a user cannot
exit the program?
Users cannot exit the ChemoTrac program by
using File/exit in the main menu when a patient is opened. Users must
close a patient record first before File/exit works. It is reminded that users can still
exit from ChemoTrac by pressing the Close button on the right top corner of the main menu
bar or use the exit button just below the main menu.
10. For Topotecan, why are users required to check both
criteria (a) and (b)?
For Topotecan, ChemoTrac requires users to
check both boxes on criteria (a) and (b). It should be just either (a) or (b).
This problem has been fixed and the update file (Update0799.zip) is available for download
from the download page.
