NOTE - The Windows version of the Pharmacy Workload Management System has a complete new design and the product development has been generously supported by the Apotex/PACE Program. What is new in Release 3.1
Merged reports for multiple sitesThis utility allows a hospital corporation with multiple sites to merge workload data from separate databases. The product of this merged data comes in three reports:
Revised performance indicatorsNew performance indicators to be generated include:
Archiving dataArchiving data utility allows the System to summarize workload data into a number of archived reports for periods defined by the user. After the user has viewed the archived reports and is satisfied that the archived data are valid, the user can select the option of deleting the data. Deleting the data will save storage space and enable the System to run faster. Workload report by personnel typesReports on workload units by personnel types are now available for both activity data and product data input. They are calculated on the basis of percentage of work performed by the personnel types on an activity or a product. Listing active categories and activity itemsThis utility allows the user to print out active workload categories and their active activity items. (Active categories and activities are those defined by the user in activating these categories and activities with the character "Y"). Automatic workload data entryAnother added feature of version 3.1 is the automatic workload activity data entry by the System based on the user's pre-defined percentage of workload units (or minutes) of another activity item. For example, if the average number of orders processed by technicians (code 1107) is 35% of the orders processed by pharmacists (code 1106), user can define such a percentage relationship between the two codes. Whatever the count on code 1106 being entered by the user, the corresponding count on code 1107 (35% of count from code 1106) will be entered by the System. Pro-rating non-patient care workload by source of requestIn some provinces such as Ontario, reporting non patient care workload is mandatory. The workload units are reported by source of request, i.e. by patient types. The Ontario Hospital Reporting System (OHRS) Version 3.0 suggests and recommends that non patient care workload by source of request can be pro-rated and calculated from patient care workload data with their respective patient type percentages. PWMS version 3.1 will provide the
user with such breakdown of non patient care workload by source of request in the MoH
report after the workload units of non patient care for the total facility is entered.
